Choosing a Pram

We understand that choosing the right pram for you and your baby can seem to be a daunting task. There is so much choice available today, with different brands and features, that it can be all too easy to get confused about the right pram for your needs.

With that in mind, we have compiled this short guide comparing the types of different prams and strollers available so you can see what is right for you. All of our prams and strollers comply with the strictest safety guidelines

Before you decide which pram to buy, there are a few questions you should ask yourself:

  • How are you going to be getting around? If you’ll be doing a lot of driving, look for a pram that’s easy to pack away and set up again. If you’re taking much public transport, size and portability will be important. Whereas if you’re doing a lot of walking, you’ll want to think about long-term (and long-range!) comfort for both you and your baby.
  • Do you have more than one baby, or are you planning on having more in the future? If this is the case, you should look at the possibility of a side by side or tandem pram.
  • Are there any other needs that you have? Do you plan to go jogging or dog walking with your pram? Will you need room for the shopping?

This might sound confusing or overwhelming, but have a look through our short guide below, and it should soon become apparent what type of pram is the best for you and your baby.

4-Wheel Prams and Strollers

We offer a range of 4-wheeled prams and strollers. Although widely used since the Victorian era, the addition of suspension over the years has made the ride smoother and more comfortable for both you and your baby. Both the classic upright pram and the more modern forward facing stroller are available, both offering plenty of extra room for your baby accessories, with pockets and compartments for everything that you need. Prams have developed significantly over recent years, and certain products in our range offer doubled wheels for stability, larger wheels with tire tread for rougher ground such as through parks or yards, reclining frames to adjust to the best position for your posture, and of course, hoods and gauze to protect your baby from the sun and the elements.

3-Wheel Joggers

3-Wheel Joggers are a fairly new innovation, being developed as a lightweight, stable and easy-to-steer pram for parents wanting to take their bubs out jogging with them. Even if you are not interested in jogging, however, 3-Wheel Joggers have a lot to recommend them. The triangular design is stable, with all of our 3-Wheelers designed so that the weight of the baby is within the prams ‘footprint’. In other words, these prams are low-slung and difficult to upset, even if your baby decides to start throwing his or her weight around! The other great advantage of 3-Wheel Joggers is their maneuverability, with the front wheel leading and making it easier to turn. This, combined with the fact that 3-Wheel Joggers can be narrower than other prams, means that this type of pram is ideal for getting around narrow shopping center aisles!

Side by Side Prams and Strollers

Side by Side Prams are of course an option if you have more than one baby you want to take out and show off! They are especially useful if you have twins, or two bubs of similar age or size, as the side by side structure allows both passengers an unrestricted view around at their world. Our range of side by side prams and strollers are also easy to collapse and transport, so they are a useful compromise if you are after a pram for both your babies that is still fairly easy to transport.

An advantage of side by side prams is their width makes them very stable and safe. Of course, the counter to this is that they are less maneuverable than other, slimmer, prams and strollers. Our range of side by sides have been designed, however, to be as slim as possible while still allowing your children plenty of room within the stroller

Tandems

The other option when you have more than one baby that you need to get out and about is the Tandem Stroller. The great advantage of the tandem over a side by side pram or stroller is that you can take both of your babies out in a stroller no wider than an average 4-Wheel Pram. Our range of tandem strollers have been designed with ease of use and versatility in mind, and the other great feature is the extra storage room underneath the length of the pram
